MISSION: to inspire individuals to act locally to make responsible choices and take direct personal actions to achieve a peaceful and environmentally sustainable future.
GOAL: to create a focused opportunity for individuals around the world to act together for a common goal. Fundamental goals include raising environmental awareness around the world and developing leadership potential in all people, so that we can be more involved, informed responsible citizens.
WORK: to meet, network, and carry out projects and forums of an action-oriented, educational nature in alignment with the missions and goals of the Windstar Foundation.

A group of John Denver fans, who have come together to remember an old friend and continue to work on causes and concerns that the late singer stood for so passionately in his own life and works. In connection with The North Carolina Friends Of John Denver Website. We hope to carry on the postitive work of a true "citizen of the world". Windstar was founded in 1976 by singer/songwriter and environmentalist John Denver along with Aikido Master Tom Crum. Windstar is a non profit environmental education organization which promotes a holistic approach to addressing environmental concerns.Windstar is the recognition and demonstration that each of us is part of, and responsible for, the quality of life on planet Earth; and that which affects any one of us, affects us all.
